Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist. She has been a reporter for more than 45 years, focusing on people suffering from the aftermath of natural catastrophes and war zones. Curry was a reporter for the wars that raged in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry is a journalist, television anchorperson and reporter who was born in 1956. Her most well-known work is has been on Today is a National Broadcasting Co. morning news program that broadcasts daily. Curry was renowned for her work on reporting human rights issues in war-stricken countries and on natural catastrophes. Curry's father was a sailor within the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. Her parents met while her father was stationed in Japan following World War II. As a result of her father's active military duty, the family travelled often. The family eventually arrived in Ashland Oregon where Curry attended high school. Curry graduated from the University of Oregon awarded her an undergraduate degree in journalism. It's possible that her experiences with different cultures as well as her life experiences has shaped the way she speaks about global issues. Curry's family relocated often and Curry did not stay in one school longer than 2 years. Curry attended various schools like San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia as well as Virginia. Ashland was her last high school. She started a new career path that would lead to a lucrative career by working as an intern at broadcasting station KTVL Channel 10 Medford. She was the first female news correspondent at this station at the age of 22. She subsequently moved to the role of anchor and reporter at KGW an NBC affiliate located in Portland, Oregan. After that, she moved in Los Angeles four years later working as a journalist at KCBS TV. During her six-year association with the channel she received 2 Emmy Awards.
